The South East Forests were fought for during my youth, so I thank those that did as the splendour is apparent today and available for the pleasure of all, during these wonderful 5 days away.

There are the lovely south coast beaches too and their undeveloped inlets and lagoons, appropriately covered with water birds and migrant waders from far away returned at the peak of this spring. We will be looking for godwits and Capsian Terns, Red-kneed Dotterels and nesting swans. Swift parrots were seen last year and there are always plenty of Lorikeets to hone your identifying skills. Honeyeaters abound on the trip with White-naped and Yellow-tufted sought after but also White-winged Triller, Flycatchers and Sittellas quite possible.

In short plenty of birdlife and gorgeous countryside to make an unforgettable tour.

We will be staying in some very nice spots with the Whale Motel on the hill at Narooma unequal in for views and food. 2 nights of contemporary chic at Tathra Beach and Spotted Gum heaven viewed from the dining room at Batemans Bay.
